How can Crystal Reports find my data?

You can use the Set Location command to change the location of a database for a report. The Set Location command provides an easy way to indicate the new name or location of database files. This is especially important if someone sends you a report that uses a database with a different location than your system has, or if you have changed the directory or disk location of a database.

Note:    This command does not physically move the database or databases. It simply directs Seagate Crystal Reports to look for the database or databases in another location than the one originally specified when setting up the report.

Since Crystal Reports for Peachtree accesses the data files directly:

  1. Select Set Location from the Database menu. The Set Location dialog box appears. The Databases list contains a list of active databases (tables) appears in the Databases box.
  1. Select the database for which you want to change the location. When you highlight a database on the list, the program displays the location (path) of that database in the Location box at the bottom of the dialog box.
  1. Set the new location for the database:
Click Done. The report is changed to reflect the new name and location.
