First, you should verify and set the data source location:
1. Select Crystal Reports from the Reports Menu in Peachtree
2. Select the custom report you want to convert
3. Click OK
If the current datasource location matches the datapath location of your custom report, or if the datasource location is .\FILE.DDF skip to step 5.
4. Select Set Datasource Location from the Database menu
5. Select Btrieve from the Replace with list box
6. Select Find Database File
7. Select the data source (i.e., c:\peachw\bcs\FILE.DDF)
8. Click the Update button
9. Click Close
The new data source location is set and the datbase is verified for the report.
Next, Map Unmapped Fields
1. From the Database menu, select Verify Database
If there are unmapped fields they will appear on the left side of the window in the Unmapped Fields list box
2. Select the unmapped field
3. Find the unmapped field's equivalent in the list box on the right side of the window and select it
4. Click the Map button
Keep the Match type check box checked
5. Repeat steps 2, 3 and 4 for any other fields that are unmapped
6. Click OK to return to the report
Third, Relink Database Tables
1. Select Database Expert from the Database menu
2. Select the database source you need to add to the list of tables (i.e., Chart)
3. Click the first arrow button (>) to the left of the Available Database Sources window
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to move any other data sources to the Selected Tables list box
5. Select the Links tab
6. Select a link
7. Select the Link Options button
8. Select the Left Outer Join button
9. Select OK
10. Repeat steps 6, 7, 8 and 9 for each link that needs to be changed to Left Outer Join
11. There may be links that aren't needed. Right click on these links and select Delete Link.
If you see the message, "the database is now up to date", click OK to close the message and proceed with the next step.
12. Select the Refresh button
13. Select Prompt for new parameter values
14. If appropriate, in the Enter Parameter Values window, use the End of range drop-down box to select the very end of the range
15. Select OK to accept the setting and run the report
You may receive an error message stating that one of the functions is not valid in this version of Crystal. If you are working with Crystal Reports for Peachtree Version 8, click OK to close the message. Your report functions will still work with Peachtree 2004. If you are working with version 9 of Crystal Reports for Peachtree, follow the instructions for, "Replacing Old Report Functions".
